What is Lighthouse?

Lighthouse is an English–Ukrainian guide to word families, prefixes and suffixes. Find a word and see which words are formed from it, with Ukrainian translations.

Can Lighthouse help with final school exams?

Yes. Word formation tasks appear in NMT, final school exams and international exams, and Lighthouse helps you practise exactly that.

Is Lighthouse suitable
for beginners?

Yes. Every word comes with a translation and its part of speech, so you can start at any level.

Is there a cost to use Lighthouse?

You can download Lighthouse and start learning for free. Some content is available with a subscription.

Is the content available in both English and Ukrainian?

Yes. English words are shown with Ukrainian translations.

Why are there not all words
in app?

We start with the most common words and their families and keep adding new ones.

Can other words be added
to App?

Yes. Email us the words you are missing and we will consider adding them.

Why are the words in a word family not always correct?

A word family groups words with a common root. Some forms are rare or have a different meaning, so we show the most common ones. If you spot a mistake, let us know.
